During my Specialist and Investigative projects I researched into different marketing techniques which included social and relational strategies. For the EMP I intend to develop a product using my research to it’s benefit.

The product will be an app that includes a website to support its campaign, and the application will have integrated sharing and referral scheme. My application will aim to make money by providing a product that serves the customer. and or teaches the user something. My thoughts have been hovering around coding and programming. I always find it a challenge to learn a new programming language but its a good challenge. I would quite like to build an app that helps people get off the ground with coding. something that COMPLETEly simplifies the process in app form, allowing users to choose sensors and parts of the devices to detect and then apply actions and outputs. Using a drag and drop interface this could be very very intuitive and allow very simple programming for beginners.

This covers the basics for the marketing and product idea, however the design is also of upmost importance. The product will be well thought out in terms of design and interaction, the app will compliment its social outlook within the functionality of the application. I will allow users to build “recipies” so that they can share the programs that they build on the app and then others can use them on their device. sharing via social networks helps social reach and will deepen the customer retention of the app.
