There are some really exciting logos and brands that have appeared in the last few years and there are hundreds of blog entries and discussions looking at some of the best I really enjoyed looking through Web Designer Depot’s posts here and here which have some really interesting logo ideas and existing brand identities with really smart concepts, I have decided to put together a list of my favorites and that which inspire me to work on mobile web and application development, So that when I begin to design my application and branding I will have a grounding in my concept and design.
The first of the logo that I am going to look at belongs to Kotton Design Shirts I found this site and their logo whilst browsing another kick ass logo blog post What I really like about their logo and design is that the are extremely consistent with the usage of their design aesthetic, their logo is really well represented within their products and branding, the image you see here on the right are their coupons, which are actually printed and had stitched on fabrik. The design is black and white no color which makes it really simple to print and use with multiple backgrounds. they have used a old style sarif font that is nice and thin and also includes the little circular tag which is in keeping with their logo and branding.
The second logo I want to look as it Oxfam’s green circular logo, you can see that the logo represents the first letters of their name ‘O’ and ‘X’ it is subtle yet effective, they reuse the color scheme of their logo effectively throughout their website and the green colour is particularly appropriate for a charity that recycles goods. I like the logo as it works very well on it’s own as a circular badge or label, something like this is great for use on all media, very versatile and easily recognised.
As far as I can tell this logo is purely conceptual, that or the logo and branding design completely out googles the company it was designed for. The brand is ‘Eat Innovations’ and the designer is PTARMAK The concept behind this logo is beautiful, the spoon making the whitespace betwen the letters ‘e’ and ‘a’ is excellent. the branding is very clean and precise with all the printed media to match, it’s a very earthy color scheme and feels healthy, makes me want to eat healthy food and or whatever they are selling. I like how lines between objects and letters are matched with corresponding ones. the whole design flows and is almost perfect.
